The Subclass 407 Training Visa allows individuals to participate in workplace-based occupational training activities in Australia. This visa is designed to help improve skills for your current job, area of tertiary study, field of expertise, or as part of a professional development program.

Key Eligibility Criteria

To apply for this visa, you must:

  • Have a Sponsor: Your application must be supported by an eligible sponsor.
  • Be Nominated: Unless your sponsor is a Commonwealth Government agency, nomination is required.
  • Be Invited: Required only if your sponsor is a Commonwealth Government agency.
  • Meet Age Requirements: You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Hold a Valid Visa: Applicants must hold a substantive temporary visa, excluding the following:
    • Subclass 403 visa
    • Subclass 771 Transit visa
    • Special Purpose visa
  • Health and Character Compliance: You must satisfy health and character requirements.
  • Have Adequate Health Insurance: A valid health insurance policy is mandatory.
  • Meet Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Criteria: Demonstrate your intention to stay in Australia temporarily.
  • Have Work Experience: 12 months full time or equivalent work experience related to the nominated occupations is required.
  • Have Functional English:
    • IELTS: Average band score of at least 4.5 across the four test components.
    • PTE: Total band score of at least 30 across the four test components.

Nomination Details:

The sponsor must provide comprehensive information about the nominee, the type of training, and the delivery plan during the nomination stage.

Including Family Members

You can include eligible family members in your visa application.

  • Family members must also meet health and character requirements.
